Location and commute
Trails at Wildhorse sits right off Decker Lake, just northeast of Austin, between 290 and Highway 130. We're not in Manor here. It's an Austin address.
For central Austin you can take 969 or 290. SH-130 gets you to Tesla and the airport. Grocery stores and restaurants are close.
It's a moderate-size master plan, not a huge one. It's not one you'll have to drive 10 minutes just to get through.
Homes and pricing
The whole community is self-developed by D.R. Horton. As of my October 2025 tour:
- Homes start in the $300,000s.
- The cheapest inventory home was $360,000 list price, before incentives. Incentives depend on how you qualify.
- You can build up to about 2,500 sq ft, so there are options for bigger families.
- There's a good selection of greenbelt lots.
D.R. Horton is bringing a contemporary, modern style to the exteriors here that I really think is nice. Incentives can change what you actually pay quite a bit, and buyers qualify differently, so it's worth talking through your options with me before you pick a home.
The trail to downtown
This is what makes the community most unique. The trail that connects Manor all the way to downtown Austin runs along the neighborhood, and some homesites back right up to it. If you're brave enough, it's about 30 minutes or less to downtown by bike.
Decker Lake is nearby for kayaking, and there are multiple parks.
Taxes and HOA
As of October 2025:
- Tax rate: 2.1%. That's very, very low compared to a lot of the East Austin / Manor area.
- HOA: $67 a month, paid quarterly. Very modest.
Tax rates change every year, so check the current number on any home you're considering.
Who it fits
Trails at Wildhorse fits buyers who want new construction under $500,000 with a reasonable commute and a lower tax rate than most of the area. It's also a great fit if you ride or run and want the trail at your back fence.
The trade-offs: it's a smaller community, homes top out around 2,500 sq ft, and my video didn't cover schools, so ask me about zoning for a specific lot.
When I work for you, you get me. I show the homes, I negotiate and I'm the one who answers your call. Call or text (512) 983-7331, or email mason@masonsellsaustin.com.
Selling in Trails at Wildhorse
My listing plan: a custom video tour, sunset photography, staging for vacant homes at my cost, and a launch straight to agents.
